The small print, minus the boring
Your questions, answered.
Joining in
Women founding, building or running businesses in and around Surrey, at any stage. Scaling something serious, side-hustling around a day job, or still scribbling ideas at 11pm? You belong here. Especially the 11pm scribblers!
Emphatically yes. The earliest stage is the loneliest, and it's exactly when finding your people matters most. If you're seriously exploring an idea, come along.
Right now, nothing — we're still busy working things out. Just register your interest → and come to an event. We'll keep you posted as we build out the community, and we'd love your input to help us shape it — so if you have ideas then please get in touch.
Two things — you're first to hear about everything: events, launches, what we're building next. And if you tick the research boxes, we'll occasionally invite you to surveys, quick interviews or group chats, because we'd rather build what your business actually needs than guess. No spam. Unsubscribe whenever you like.
Our events and community are built around Surrey, but we don't check passports at the border. If you're close enough to show up, you're welcome.
Events
Only your business. When you book, we list your business name and town on the event page once three or more businesses are going. We never show your name. Untick the box when you book if you’d rather not be listed.
Real conversations IRL, as the kids say. (Although we'll also set up some virtual events at some point, because we want to create a community that fits around your crazy schedule.) We'll try different event formats to see what works best, but we're thinking it will be structured enough to be useful, relaxed enough to be enjoyable. No name badges at chest height, no pitch circles, nobody asking about your five-year plan. New dates land on our events page first — we also post them to Meetup and Eventbrite if you'd rather follow us there.
All over — we rotate venues so nobody's always the one driving. Expect events in and around Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Banstead, Epsom, Guildford, Oxted and Leatherhead to start with, and tell us where you are — we go where the founders are. Each event's venue is on the events page.
Every upcoming event is on our events page — dates, venues, prices and booking all in one place. Some events also appear on Meetup or Eventbrite; the events page always has the full list.
Yes — you can book up to six places in one go. We'll ask for each person's name and any dietary needs so the venue can plan. Cancelling cancels the whole booking.
Yes, that's rather the point. We know it can be daunting coming to your first event — if it's your first one, email me at gabi@femalefounderssurrey.com and we can catch up beforehand. That way you'll definitely know at least one person!
We'd love to talk! Email gabi@femalefounderssurrey.com — venues, speakers and sponsors who share our values are all welcome.
The Spotlight
If your business is woman-owned and based in (or serving) Surrey, it's free. Hit "Get featured" on the Spotlight page →, verify your email with a one-time code (that's our bot-repellent), and fill in the short form. Business name, town, the type of business, a few words on what you do, a longer description, a link to your website or social pages, and a photo. Once approved, your listing gets a page of its own at femalefounderssurrey.com/spotlight/your-business. A real human (hi!) reviews every submission before it goes live. We ask for your email but only so we can verify you're also a human (seems only fair). We will not share your email on the website.
Yes — just hit Get featured again, enter the same email, pop in the code, and you can edit everything including the photo. If your listing is already live it stays live while a real human reviews the changes.
Yes. Every approved listing has its own page. Open it from the Spotlight and use the LinkedIn, Facebook or Copy link buttons, or paste the address anywhere you like. Search engines can find the page too, so it's a small bit of extra visibility for free.
Anything that represents your business. Square works best, but upload what you've got and we'll frame it nicely. You keep ownership of your photo; the details are in our Terms →.
No, listing is free while we build the community. Down the line there may be paid extras like featured placement, but a free listing stays free.
You'll get a confirmation email as soon as you submit, so there's no need to send it twice. Every listing is personally reviewed before publishing, usually within a few days. If it's been longer than that, drop me a line at gabi@femalefounderssurrey.com. To remove a listing, email that address too. To update a listing, use the Get featured flow above. It's quicker.
The boring-but-important bits
Through event tickets and, from spring 2027, membership. Free stays free | members get more.
FFS was founded, and is run, by Gabi Berkelmann. Female Founders Surrey is a trading name of Female Founder Stories Ltd. If you are interested in partnering with us we'd love to hear from you →. We are interested in speaking to people who have experience in coaching, financial guidance for business owners, legal and tax, marketing and social media, and business development.
As little as possible, and we never sell it. The full detail (what we collect, why, and your rights) is in our Privacy Policy →. In summary, your details are used to run this community and nothing else, and you can delete all your information at any time.
